In collaboration with Lake Erie College (LEC) in Painesville, 俄亥俄州, AOA has established the LEC@AOA program to offer select LEC courses on the AOA campus for eligible students. LEC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is fully authorized by the state of 俄亥俄州 to offer select degrees and programs. Credits earned through this opportunity may be eligible for transfer to any college or university in the United States as determined by the respective institution. LEC@AOA courses are specifically designed for 学术ally ambitious post-high school pre-college students (“Postgraduate” students); therefore, students must apply for and be accepted into the program.

  • Business Law (3 credits)

    An introduction to the legal system, with emphasis on the law as it affects business relationships. 历史, social and moral factors are examined in an attempt to convey the dynamic nature of legal rules. 

  • MN215 Business Statistics (3 credits)

    A study of statistical methods used for business decisions. Topics include descriptive statistics, 概率, 估计, 假设检验, regression analysis and forecasting. Emphasis is on developing and interpreting information for business research and decision making.

  • Fundamentals of the Enterprise (3 credits)

    The course provides an introduction to the structural, 金融, 经济, 管理, legal and operational fundamentals of organizations, 盈利与非盈利.

  • HU270 Philosophy of Human Freedom (3 credits)

    This course will investigate the philosophy and application of freedom in various contexts, including intellectual, 学术, 教育, 宗教, 和语音. Students will explore various philosophical writings including those of Plato, C.S. 刘易斯, John Locke and others, and use these as a basis for developing their own philosophy of freedom.

  • Sport Psychology (3 credits)

    The course provides students with an introduction to the application of psychological principles to sport settings. Topics addressed in the course include motivation, 领导, 焦虑管理, 团队合作, 可视化, personality issues in sport and performance management.

  • Sport Sociology (3 credits)

    This course provides students with an understanding of the social aspects of sport, with an emphasis on the interrelationship of sport and society. Students will be encouraged to think critically on topics such as social values, 教育, 宗教, 社会化, 大众媒体, 性别歧视, and racism as they relate to the sports industry. (阿曼达·柯蒂斯)

    • AOA eligibility requirements
      PG students admitted to AOA may be eligible to take up to two of the required three courses in each semester within the LEC@AOA program, dependent upon the availability of the courses.

    How to Apply for the LEC@AOA Program:

    • New AOA Postgraduate Student
      Acceptance to the Andrews Osborne Academy Postgraduate Program is required prior to applying to the LEC@AOA Program.

    • Students will receive a notification of enrollment into the program along with a schedule of classes via e-mail.

  • LES@AOA Documentation Required

    • Students enrolled in LEC@AOA courses will receive a LEC transcript
    • Grades in LEC@AOA courses will NOT be factored into an AOA student’s 平均绩点
    • AOA's College Counseling Office will make sure both the LEC and the AOA transcript are sent when/where appropriate
